| The 2010 FOP 84 Family Picnic will be held on July 31st at Harvest Home Lodge in Cheviot. Below is what has been discussed for the picnic and some items are pending so check back often as we will try to update the site as things are finalized. - Picnic will be from 2:00pm - 9:00pm to help cut down on volunteer fatigue and to limit the amount of time we have to keep grills going. - Food will be served from 4:30 - 6:00 and will include: hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, baked beans and corn ont he cob. - Attendees will provide their own drinks/coolers. The Lodge will not be supplying drinks this year. - We have 2 inflatable for the kids to play on, a cotton candy machine and a popcorn machine. We will also have a dunk tank. - Door prizes are in the works. We have had several donations from local businesses so far, and hopefully those will continue to come in. - We will be having a "Best Dessert" contest for anyone who wishes to enter. Prize will be awarded. Other issues: PARKING: NO ONE is to park back at the shelter area. Parking is to be in designated spaces only. This applies to EVERYONE! VOLUNTEERS: As always, volunteers are needed to make this event successful We need people to grill the food primarily. We also need people to operate the cotton candy machine and the popcorn machine. We cannot have anyone under 16 do this per the contract! Also, we need volunteers to be on the dunk tank. Again, they must be 16 or older per the contract. We also need volunteers to help with the inflatable to make sure there aren't too many kids inside at one time. If you know of any high school kids who need service hours, this is a great opportunity. Have them get in touch with Patti Brown. DONATIONS: If anyone has contacts who would like to donate items for the door prizes, we are asking for gift cards/gift certificates, or larger items for the major prizes. Please avoid accepting items such as baked goods, food items (other than hamburgers/hot dogs), or any drinks. |
