Benefit for Cincinnati Police Officer Spencer
Henderson (wife, Tracy, works for HCSO). August 1st
at Woodlands Reception Hall.
Good day to all. I hope you are having a great and fun filled summer, and
yes, the school year is just around the corner!
We have had a very productive year so far, even with all the manpower cut
backs that we have dealt with, we still stand tall as a Fraternal Order, so be
very proud of that.
We have some very important issues that we need to address at our
upcoming meeting on August 19th. First - the Presidential election, second -
our dues and membership, and third - our promoter. You have put your
faith in the Lodge Officers, so I hope we will give you the right return on
your investment. Please review a few things before the next meeting.
1. 2008 Presidential election. Senator Obama and Senator McCain are
our two choices. We all need to look very hard at our options and who we
hope to become our next Commander in Chief. I have reviewed many
interviews, emails and other communications dealing with many LE topics. I
have my vote, but I am only one. WE, as an FOP, need to vote as a Lodge.
2. Dues & Membership. As you know, our economy is in an unstable
pattern and it will hopefully smooth out soon. We need to look into
increasing our membership dues. The Lodge Officers will be meeting to
discuss this prior to the August 19th meeting and we will hopefully come up
with a plan.
3. Our promoter. I have met with our new promoter and he is a very
enthusiastic person with a lot of great ideas. We will be dealing with our
Brothers/Sisters from Lodge 74 in this upcoming promotion. I will have more
at our meeting.
This month also starts the 2008 Bengals season. I have been asked to remind
everyone that if you are planning to attend any of the games and plan to
carry your off duty weapon, please contact any of the on duty officers
working the game when you arrive at the stadium. They will assist you on
entering the stadium. Always remember to conduct yourself accordingly
when off duty.
Lastly, our local Cincinnati Police Masonic group is holding its Annual PMC
Pig Roast on Friday, August 15 from 1600-2300 hrs at Harvest Home Park.
This is a great time for all and you do not have to be a Mason to attend. All
MEN are welcome, so bring a friend.
Please call me if you have any issues we need to look into, 946-2296.
Fraternally,
Stephen Watt
